These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the website at projectthunder.com and any tools we offer through it, including the free site scan. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
If you are engaging ProjectThunder for paid work — design, development, consulting — that engagement is governed by a separate written agreement (a Statement of Work or Master Services Agreement), not by these Terms.
1. Who we are
ProjectThunder, Inc. is a US-based digital studio. "ProjectThunder", "we", "us", and "our" mean ProjectThunder, Inc. Contact: hello@projectthunder.com · 877.609.9029.
2. Use of the site
You may use the site for lawful purposes only. You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its servers, or related infrastructure.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the site except under a coordinated security-research arrangement with us.
- Submit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or malicious.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, harvesters) to interact with the site or our APIs in a way that circumvents rate limits or imposes an undue load.
- Misrepresent who you are or whose website you are scanning.
3. The free site scan
The scan tool at /scan.html analyzes a website you specify and emails you a report. To keep it sustainable and free, the following apply:
- You must have authority to scan. By submitting a URL, you represent that the website is yours, that you are authorized to request analysis of it, or that the website is publicly accessible and the scan does not violate the site owner’s reasonable expectations or applicable law.
- Public, non-private targets only. We refuse to scan internal or private network addresses, staging servers, or anything that requires authentication. The tool will refuse such requests automatically.
- Rate limiting. We allow up to three scans per IP address per 30-day window. Attempts to circumvent this (proxies, VPN rotation) are a violation of these Terms.
- Best-effort, not advice. The scan report is informational. It uses third-party data (BuiltWith) and AI analysis (Claude) and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Do not rely on it as professional advice. Any decision you make based on the report is your responsibility.
- No warranty. The tool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
4. Intellectual property
The site, its design, copy, code, and the visual elements that make up the brand are owned by ProjectThunder or its licensors. Project work shown in the portfolio remains the property of those clients; we display it with their permission where required. You may not reuse our materials beyond ordinary browser caching, screenshots for legitimate commentary, or normal sharing of links.
Reports we generate for you via the scan tool are yours to use within your business. Please don’t republish them as if you authored them.
5. Third-party links and services
The site may link to third-party services (e.g., Vimeo, our partners’ sites). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those services. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and tools are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProjectThunder disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProjectThunder will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or the free scan tool, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to your use of the site or the free scan tool is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months for use of the site (which, for the free site, is zero) — whichever is greater.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify ProjectThunder against claims arising from your misuse of the site, your submission of URLs you were not authorized to scan, or your violation of these Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version is effective when posted at this URL. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
